The Horn of Africa region including Somalia has suffered from 18 years of civil war and severe natural calamities such as drought and flooding. These disasters directly affect the degree of self-reliance of communities and the access to primary education, infrastructure, and health systems. In this connection, the organization aims to provide relief services to minimize the impact of these calamities on their projects.
Cansomedia also engages in securing the future among the poor and marginalized by supporting income generating projects through training and facilitation to access credit. Livelihood program includes activities that are meant to secure the necessities of life. Such projects include but not limited to camel milk production and processing and agri-business. Cansomida’s livelihoods interventions focus more on women and youth.
