Cansomida works in remote areas of Somali and the greater Horn of Africa to promote equal access to quality education for all Somali youth and children – from early learning to secondary education. The organization is in the process of creating an endowment fund to meet the education needs of the financially disadvantaged youth and children. Other proposed activities underway include the Sustainable School Feeding Program.
Cansomida helps communities who may lack resources, information or influence to exercise their voice through education, networking, coalition-building and advocacy. Our tools and strategies connect communities with public service, enable them to track their activity and efficiency, and give them a say in policy making and priorities.
Cansomida’s emphasis on partnership cultivates grassroots support for reform by encouraging cooperation among local governments, communities, civil society and business.
